ISLAMABAD – The first fruit of Defence Exhibition lands in Pakistan’s basket as Maldives shows interest in purchasing the Super Mushshak air crafts, PakistanTribe reported.
The breakthrough was announced on Thursday before the closing of Ideas 2014 Defence Expo in Pakistan’s largest metropolitan city.
Federal Minister for Defence Production Rana Tanveer Hussain confirmed the news ans stated “Soon Pakistan will sign an agreement with Maldives in the regard.”
There were 333 international and national weapons manufacturers at the Defence Expo 2014. Moreover, 47 international delegations from Russia, US, Europe and Asian countries have also participated in the exhibition.
MFI-17 Mushshak is a license-built fixed-gear basic trainer aircraft, improved version of the Saab Safari, used by the Pakistan Army and Pakistan Air Force. It is manufactured in Kamra, Pakistan by Pakistan Aeronautical Complex (PAC). As of 2006, 80 aircraft have been manufactured. Built to MIL-Spec and fully aerobatic, it is used for training, towing and other ground support roles. An upgraded version, the PAC Super Mushshak, has also been produced by PAC.
