LAHORE – The former Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir Sardar Attique Ahmed Khan aspires to join forward block of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), PakistanTribe learnt from correspondent reports.
Sardar Attique held a detailed meeting with former PML-N leader Zulfiqar Khusa in Lahore at his residence on Thursday.
Sardar Attique hails from Muslim Conference which at times went in alliance with Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) and then PML-N. The alliance strategy, however, depends on the condition that which of the Muslim Leagues is in power at federal level.
PML-N’s forward block is lead by Zulfiqar Khusa in Punjab. He was the former central leader of PML-N but part ways with the party in the twilight of 2013 general elections. In Sindh, the PML-N forward block is lead by Liaquat Jatao (former Chief Minister of PML-N from Sindh), Ghaus Ali Shah and Mumtaz Bhutto.
Although there is now the Kashmir chapter of PML-N headed by another former premier Raja Farooq Haider but Sardar Atique still holds a significant political position in Azad Kashmir.
It is also pertinent to mention here that currently Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) is forming the government in Azad Kashmir with Prime Minister Majeed Chaudhry leading the cabinet.
