Gen Kayani didn’t believe Mehsud plan for murdering Benazir Bhutto: US writer | PakistanTribeWASHINGTON – A US writer has disclosed in his book that former general Ashfaq Pervez Kayani did not believe that Baitullah Mehsud did plan for murdering the former prime minister Benazir Bhutto.

The surprising disclosures were made in the book with the title ‘Getting away with murder’ Benazir Bhutto’s assassination and politics of Pakistan. The book would be in market on December 8.

The writer, Heraldo Muñoz wrote in his book that Benazir Bhutto did know that there were many people who wanted to kill her and she had information that three other groups of suicide bombers besides Baitullah Mehsud can attempt to kill her. He further said that one group belonged to Osama Bin Laden’ son, Hamza Bin Laden, the second group belonged to militants of the Lal Masjid and the third group belonged to a armed organization of Karachi.

The writer also quoted in his book the conversation made with the former army chief Ashfaq Pervez Kayani. In the conversation, former general Kayani said that Benazir Bhutto was to return to Pakistan at the end of the year according to the agreement made with the former general (retd) Pervez Musharraf so that Benazir Bhutto could be made prime minister in the beginning of the year according to the deal and Pervez Musharraf should remain as president of the country and all the judicial cases against Benazir Bhutto should be abolished.

It was also said in the book that Ashfaq Pervez Kayani declared the performance of the Rawalpindi police substandard after the assassination of Benazir Bhutto. It was also said that pres conference of the Musharraf government was also made before time.
