LAHORE – Asian countries have adopted the much anticipated European Union Model as at least 25 countries agreed to establish Asian Parliament with an agenda to achieve common objectives.
25 Asian countries agreed to make an Asian parliament to establish a platform for regional countries to solve their politico-economic issues on regional level, PakistanTribe reported on Wednesday.
Addressing to the summit Pakistani Senator Mushahid Hussain Syed – chairman executive committee Asian Parliament – said “Asia will take its decisions without dictation”. Raja Zafar ul Haq as a leader of Pakistani delegate in summit pointed out Kashmir dispute and said “Without solution of Kashmir dispute, there will be no peace in the region”.
Sanator Nayyer Bukhari -President Asian Parliament – hoped that “Now Asian countries will take rapid steps towards prosperity”.
All issues of common interest like poverty, smuggling, terrorism, environmental challenge, corruption and financial issues were also discussed in summit by all participants of Asian countries.
Diplomats from all Asian countries agreed in summit that terrorism is the common threat to all Asian countries and there is a need for common policy to encounter terrorism.
Paying tribute to Malala Yousufzai senator Mushahid Hussain Syed said that Pakistani nation know how to fight in critical situation.
Not to forget that many international affairs experts and think tanks believe that balance of power is now changing. Asian countries are making efforts to stand on their own feet without depending on Europe and America.
Jim Roger rightly said that “If the 19th century belonged to Britain, and the 20th century to the United States. Then the 21st century will surely belong to Asia.”
