Karachi – Senior batsman and former captain of Pakistan Cricket Team Younis Khan aspires to play like Inzamam ul Haq and the great Javed Miandad in World Cup 2015.
Younis felt that Pakistan should play their natural game in the World Cup and not try to copy any other team’s game in the upcoming mega event of International Cricket Council. “I wish to play my role in world cup as Inzamam and Javed Miandad played in 1992 mega event,” he added.
Younis Khan has expressed his desire to play at number three position in the batting line-up in the upcoming one-day series against New Zealand.
Younis, who has been recalled to the one-day squad after much bitterness with the selectors over his place in the 50-overs format and World Cup plans, said he had always felt most comfortable batting at the one-down position.
“I am happy to be back in the one-day squad and my mind is clear I will continue to play for Pakistan as long as I am fit and enjoying the game,” he said.
Younis Khan said Pakistan team won the crown of champions of T20 format in 2009 world cup under his captaincy. If Pakistan team will win this mega event then my career will become more memorial.
It has been two months since Younis Khan lashed outat the national selectors for dropping him from the ODI side, two months in which he has ransacked 717 runs in five Tests. The selectors simply could not ignore the weight of those runs, and have picked him in the ODI squad for the first two matches against New Zealand.
