LAHORE – Co-Chairman of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Asif Ali Zardari has accepted that he could not take care of Jiyalas during their previous government tenure.
Zardari was addressing the PPP workers on the occasion of party’s foundation day.
He said “I could not hug my party workers. Though we gave country a constitution, Balochistan its rights, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) its identity but we could not spend enough time with our workers.
“Go’s slogan was initiated by us. Twenty years after Mr Imran Niazi adopted this again,” he said. Criticizing the Plan-C of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)’s Chairman Imran Khan. He said “Why Mr Imran Niazi could not see that December 16 was the date of fall of Dhaka? It is because he has no political training.”
Zardari was clearly chewing the word ‘Niazi’ with a reference to Lieutenant General Amir Abdullah Khan Niazi who was commander of Pakistani troops in East Pakistan (Now Bangladesh) during 1971 war.
Zardari also stated that he was in debt of party workers. “I am in debt of Salman Taseer’s son. I am in debt of workers who sacrificed their lives in Karachi, Azad Kashmir, KP, Punjab and Balochistan.”
He refused to follow the current political trends otherwise known as Dharna politics. “We are going to do real politics. We will not single out just one person to follow the trend of Go-You-Go.” Amazingly, PPP workers started chanting Go-Nawaz-Go just when Zardari finished his sentence.
