RAWALPINDI – 17 outlawed militants of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) have been killed in an air strike by Pakistan Armed Forces on militant’s hide-out in Datta Khail area of North Wazirastan Agency (NWA), Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) confirmed.
According to ISPR’s official communique 17 outlawed militants have been killed including foreigners but local sources of Datta Khail informed that not more than 8 militates were killed in this strike.
In latest strikes against the outlawed militants, Pakistan Armed Forces targeted the hideouts last night in North Waziristan Agency of Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA).
Previous to this strike, Pakistan Army had killed a senior militant commander on November 25, 2014.
It is also pertinent to mention here that earlier in June the Pakistan Army began an offensive against militant hideouts in the North Waziristan tribal agency after a bloody attack on Karachi Airport. That attack ended faltering peace talks between the government and the outlawed Taliban.
Until now more than 1,200 terrorists have been killed in Operation Zarb-e-Azab.
