Peshawar – Peshawar-Islamabad motorway road has blocked by the workers of Jameat Ulema Fazlur Rehman (JUI-F) Islam on Sunday.
Workers of JUI-F were protesting against the murder of secretary general for the Sindh of JUI-F Khalid Mehmmod Sumro and bocked Motorway and Swabi interchange as well.
Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtukhwa Parvez Khatak and his convay change their rout to reach Islamabad for November 30 rally.
Earlier, Former senator Dr Khalid Mehmood Soomro, secretary general of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) Sindh, was shot dead in a targeted attack here early Saturday morning. Armed men entered the area and opened fire at Soomro.
Soomro was in Sukkur to participate in a conference when the attack took place in the Khosa Goth area.
He was offering his morning prayers at a seminary in Gulshan-e-Iqbal Society of Khosa Goth area here, when three unidentified men entered the place and opened fire at him using pistols and Kalashnikov rifles, police said. According to Sukkur Police, four assailants arrived in three cars.
Three of them, aged between 25 and 35, entered the seminary from the back gate while the fourth one stayed in the vehicle. Dr Soomro, who was in Sukkur to participate in a conference, died while being shifted to a hospital.
