LAHORE/KARACHI – Within few hours two political leaders are targeted first in Sukkur where Jamaiat Ulma-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F)’s General Secretary of Sindh Khalid Somor and second in Lahore where Mutahidda Qaumi Movement (MQM)’s city president Amir Baloch.
According to the details four armed men went inside the mosque to kill Khalid Somor early morning on Saturday.
Preliminary reports suggest that attackers were four in number aged between 20 and 25 years. They specifically target the JUI-F’s leader making it a case of targeted killing.
After the assassination of JUI-F leader the political workers staged a demonstration and forcefully shut the business activities in their areas of influence. Somro’s funeral services will be carried out this evening.
In other incident of target killing, MQM’s President of Lahore Chapter Amir Baloch’s car came under fire shots. Although he survived the attack bus his maternal uncle – name still not verified – expired due to bullet injuries.
Preliminary reports reveal that attack was rooted in a land dispute.
