NEWS DESK – Seemingly the first communal unrest under the shadow of alleged pro-Hindutwa premier of India Narendra Modi is in making as ruling party plans to stage rally in the county’s biggest Muslim university.
According to the details available with PakistanTribe‘s correspondent from international wires and social media reports, the tensions were on rise ever since Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) announced a rally inside Aligarh Muslim University’s campus.
BJP’s Aligarh chapter had earlier announced hold demonstration on the birth anniversary of one freedom fighter Raja Mahendra Pratap in the university premises.
Indian media had reported on Friday that the Vice Chancellor of Aligarh Muslim University wrote a letter to Human Resource Development Minister Smriti Irani warning her about the possible threat of communal unrest amid any such activity.
Vice Chancellor Zameer Uddin Shah had said in the letter that if certain elements went ahead with their plans to hold a demonstration at Aligarh Muslim University on December 1, it could lead to massive student unrest and stoke communal conflagration.
Political pundits in India believes that BJP’s move was in fact a preparatory step towards Utter Paradesh (UP)’s state election. Not to forget that the majority of BJP’s vote bank comprised on conservative Hindus.
