ISLAMABAD – The Federal Information Minister Pervaiz Rashid has leveled serious accusation against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan including that he works for ‘oil lobby’.
Pervaiz held a press conference on Friday and lambasted Khan amid his call for November 30 Rally at D-Chowk.
Although federal government had given the conditional permission to PTI to arrange a rally in Red Zone but defamation tactics from both sides seems not to be ended anyhow.
In similar more, Pervaiz stated “Oil lobby does not want reduction in petroleum prices. Imran Khan seems to be working for the same lobby.” Not to forget that government is yet to decide whether to lower the prices of petroleum goods by Rs 4-10 from December 1.
Pervaiz also maintained that in 2014 Imran Khan paid less than Rs 200,000 tax on his income while telling the reported that “Nawaz Sharif and his family paid Rs 560 million as tax since 2007.”
“Imran Khan is a defaulter as far as Agriculture Tax liabilities are concerned. The sources of Imran Khan as per his declaration income from abroad are in exchange of some unknown type of services. PTI Imran Khan has been evading tax through jugglery of statistics,” he added.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s response
PTI had repeatedly public all the income and tax details of its Chairman Imran Khan related to his assets in Pakistan which they believe stands accurate.
Responding to the accusations of Pervaiz Rashid, PTI leader Naeem ul Haq said “If Imran Khan really is a tax defaulter then take him to the court of law. Truth is that all allegations by PML-N are baseless.”
On question about the agriculture land owned by Imran Khan, Naeem said “Imran Khan received the agricultural land from his family.”
