Born as Vishal Veeru Devgan, he changed his name to Ajay Devgn for the Hindi film industry. Ajay’s father Veeru Devgan is a well-known stunt choreographer and his mother Veena Devgan is a film producer. Ajay changed the spelling of his surname from Devgan to Devgn on the insistence of his family.
