JI flays rulers on missing persons agony | PakistanTribeLAHORE – Ameer, Jamaat e Islami, Pakistan, Syed Munawar Hasan, has said that the attitude of the present rulers regarding the missing persons was the same as of the governments of Pervez Musaharraf and Asif Ali Zardari.

In a statement here on Tuesday, he said that the families of the missing persons had pinned high hopes from the PML(N) government but they were disappointed. These families were passing through a state of agony because of the indifference of the government and agencies as the orders of the Supreme Court were being ignored for the last many months.

The JI Ameer urged the Chief justice of Pakistan to ensure compliance of the apex court orders and stringent action must be taken against all those found involved in the abductions and the removal of these citizens.

He said it was an irony that the government agencies and security institutions who were a total failure in nabbing foreign terrorists were quick in lifting law biding citizens from their homes.

Syed Munawar Hasan welcomed Supreme Court direction for registering murder cases for the death of two persons in agencies custody, and stressed that those responsible for these murders must be handed down deterrent punishment.
He also urged the apex court to hold an enquiry in the cases of the citizens handed over to the US, including Dr A’fia Siddiqui.

He said the recovery of the people lifted from their homes in Balochistan was imperative for the restoration of peace and stability in the province.
