ISLAMABAD – The coalition partner of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) – Jamaat-e-Islami – has formally refused to attend November 30 rally at D-Chowk which at least one of its leader termed as ‘Dance and Singing’.
According to the details available with PakistanTribe‘s correspondent, JI on Wednesday formally denied the offer.
Source told PakistanTribe that due to the role of facilitator for negotiations between Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N)’s federal government and PTI, JI turned down the offer of participating in November 30 rally. “It will make us a party whereas we want to remain impartial,” JI told PTI.
It was also learnt that Chief Minister of KP Pervaiz Khattak had approached JI chief Sirajul Haq for participating in their rally. The vice chairman of PTI Shah Mehmood Qureshi approached JI’s Secretary General Liaquat Baloch for this purpose.
It is pertinent to mention here that PakistanTribe had already reported on November 17 that JI will not be responding to Imran Khan’s call to get together against PML-N government. Click here – JI and PTI – to read the report.
