ISLAMABAD – The President of Pakistan Mamnoon Hussain has appreciated Air University for organizing a three-day international conference on the pertaining issue of energy generation.
President Mamnoon Hussain addressed the opening session of international conference on ‘Energy System and Policies’ on Monday at Air University’s Islamabad Campus.
He said “It is my earnest hope that recommendations and suggestions shared during this conference will transform into comprehensive practical approach. My warm appreciation for Air University for leading from the front on this issue and organizing this vital conference.”
He also shared the fact that present government of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) was fully aware of the energy crisis. “Government is working to overcome the energy requirements with a policy of energy mix. Our country is blessed with natural sources of energy production including gas, bio gas, rivers, sun light, coal and wind.”
He also stated that putting an to loadshedding would be a relief for the domestic consumers and business community alike.
Addressing the conference, Air Chief Marshal Tahir Rafique Butt said Pakistan has the requisite human resources to overcome the energy crisis. He said the international community should also set aside their misperceptions about Pakistan and come forward for assistance to solve the problem.
Chairman Higher Education Commission (HEC) Mukhtar Ahmad, in his remarks, said the universities should come up with solutions on the problems faced by the country, including energy and water shortages.
The Air University is holding a mega three-day International Conference titled ‘Energy System and Policies’. It will be held at university’s Islamabad campus from November 24 to November 26. University claims that at least 10 international energy experts will participate in the conference.
The opening session of the conference was attended by Chief Guest President Mamnoon Hussain, Air Chief Tahir Rafique Butt and other prominent national and foreign educationists.
