KARACHI – The health of children in jeopardy as Lady Health Workers have refused to conduct anti-polio drive in country’s largest metropolitan city citing non-payment of wages.
The lady health workers are currently not conducting the on-going anti-polio drive in Karachi, PakistanTribe learnt from correspondent reports.
The polio workers also threatened to stay away from tomorrow’s anti-polio drive as well. Sindh government had not issued the wages of workers.
In Pakistan till now 243 Polio cases were reported during this year, 155 cases from Federally Administrative Tribal Area (FATA), 49 from Khyber Pakhtukhwa (KP), 25 cases from Sindh and 11 from Blochistan.
