Future of Infinity: Mobilink and Qubee negotiating

Future of Infinity: Mobilink and Qubee negotiating | PakistanTribeISLAMABAD – Pakistan’s largest cellular operator Mobilink and one of the leading Internet Service Provider (ISP) Qubee are negotiating about the future of Mobilink sister concern company Infinity.

A source inside Qubee confirmed to PakistanTribe.com that negotiation between Qubee and Mobilink is underway but nothing has been decided so far

Mobilink infinity has a wide range of customers including corporate and domestic sides.

The company provides internet connectivity services to banks and multinational companies besides customers in domestic sides.

Earlier a report of Pakistani Telecom blog, ProPakistani has claimed that Mobilink Infinity, a WiMAX broadband operator and part of Broadband Division of Mobilink, is planning to wrap up its operations in Pakistan, we have confirmed with sources.

A highly placed source who wanted to remain unnamed told ProPakistani that company has handed over its entire WiMAX customers’ base to Qubee to finally quit the business.

As a result a total of 15,000 WiMAX customers – all from Karachi – were transferred to Qubee.

Mobilink, earlier this year, closed Link Dot Net – the DSL broadband arm of the group – citing tough market situation.

Now with the closure of Mobilink Infinity, the broadband division of Mobilink is all freed up and is likely to shift its entire focus to 3G data services.

But the most interesting point is that former state owned company PTCL has test the 4G and the company now can plan for 4G LTE through their EvDO.
