PESHAWAR – The official sources have confirmed that Afghan Authorities shut down cross border movement from Khyber Agency’s tribal region objecting over a infrastructural construction on Pakistani side.

PakistanTribe learnt on Saturday that the border was shut down by Afghanistan for both people and transport resulting in miles long ques of vehicles.

According to sources, Afghan officials have objected over construction of a complex on the Pakistani side of the border and closed the border crossing. The border could reopen after talks between the officials of two sides over the disputed matter, sources added.

Pakistan Army is currently engaged in two important military operations in Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA)’s agencies including Operation Zarb-e-Azb in North Waziristan Agency (NWA) and Operation Khyber-1 in Khyber Agency. Amid this situation a massive gathering of vehicles and people could make it a potential target for the militants.
