LAHORE – The supremo of Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) Tahir ul Qadri has demanded to abolish the order of constituting the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) which according to him comprised on ‘murderers’.
According to the televised reports Tahir ul Qadri was speaking to media persons outside his residence in Model Town Lahore on Saturday when he put forward his principal demand.
“We had repeatedly rejected the formulation of this JIT. We do not accept the officers of Punjab to investigate the brutal killings of our party workers in Model Town,” he reaffirmed.
Not to forget that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) lead Punjab Government had formed a new JIT by including Military Intelligence (MI) and Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) officers to probe Model Down incident on November 13. However, rejecting this new probe body Qadri reminded Army Chief General Raheel Sharif of his words and asked to form the JIT in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).
The Federal Information Minister Pervaiz Rashid had already declined the demand stating “We cannot meet a new demand every other day. It is only a delaying tactics from Tahir ul Qadri. He must let the law take its course.”
