Army Chief General Raheel Sharif Awarded with US Legion Merit Medal.

WASHINGTON – America admired the brave leadership of Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif and awarded US Legion Merit Medal, who is in US on his maiden visit.

According to the spokes person of Pakistan Army Lieutenant General Asim Bajwa accompanied by his counterpart General Raheel witnessed guard of honour and gun salute presented by US soldiers.

US conferred Raheel Sharif with US Merit Medal for his brave leadership, judiciousness and his efforts to bring peace in region.

COAS further met with Deputy Secretary of Defence Robert Work and Commander US Marines General Joseph Dunford.

Situation in Afghanistan and on the military operation Pakistan launched earlier this year to destroy militant hideouts in its tribal belt discussed in meeting.
