ISLAMABAD – The supremo of Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) Tahir ul Qadri has once again aligned his hopes from Pakistan Army Chief General Raheel Sharif to get the justice for his murdered followers in Model Town incident.
Turning down any possibility of a deal with Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Qadri repeated his stance that only Army Chief can get them justice.
“No court can do justice. The judge appointed on preliminary judicial inquiry of Model Town incident tried to be fair in his finding but Shahbaz Sharif went to Lahore High Court (LHC) to get the stay order on the release of that inquiry,” he added. “Army will do justice with the offenders and it is also our demand.”
Qadri also lashed the critiques for commenting on his foreign visits. “I have an international stature. My grandchildren live in Canada. I have to attend many international conferences now and then. But hold no doubts, no one can keep me out of Pakistan. Let the government arrest me as I am going back.”
He also turned down the rumors of breaking a deal with PML-N government over Model Town incident. “What kind of deal it would be that our workers are living under continuous threat, being arrested, disappeared, nominated as wanted and dragged to jails?” he asked.
He also maintained that now phase of Dharna was over. “Our primary focus is on November 30 protest rally,” he added.
Not to forget that it was only on November 14 that Qadri directly addressed to General Raheel Sharif and reminded him of the ‘words’ during a meeting in Rawalpindi. He said “We demand from you General Raheel Sharif that consider for what you have called us in Rawalpindi. It was you who called us. We never went there on our own.”
PakistanTribe‘s correspondent learnt from one source – television personality believed to have close ties with military establishment – that PML-N’sgovernment used the influence of Army Chief to settle the issue of Model Town’s police case with PAT and Tahirul Qadri.
