DUBAI – New Zealand puts Pakistan’s winning streak to an end as Green shirts could only make 196 runs on the loss of five wickets in their second innings.
Chasing 261, Pakistan lost Umar early. Ali and Masood steadied them with a 50-run stand before three quick wickets pegged them back in the game.
Younus and Shafiq though played well and ensured their were no further wickets went till Tea. After Tea, Younus did get out and the pair of Ahmed and Shafiq did play a few shots to entertain the crowd, but the result was never in doubt and it ended in a draw.
New Zealand team declared their second innings after scoring 250 runs with the loss of nine wickets. Ross Tylor complete his century and depart after scoring 104 runs including 12 fours.
Yasir Shah took first time, eight wicket haul in test match inning. Zulfiqar Babar took four wickets.
Srfraz Ahmad scored his third century and drives Pakistan in comfortable zone, he left the pitch after scoring 112 runs. Sarfraz (112 runs), Azhar Ali (75) and Younis khan (72) were top scorer from Pakistan side. Azhar Ali and Younis khan were thr top scorer from Pakistani side, Yonis khan scored 72 runs and Aazhar ali scored 75 runs.
Boult and Sodhi tooks two wicket each, while Tim Southee send three batsman back two pavilian.BB Maccalum and Nesham one wicket each.
Shan Masood (13 runs) and Taufeeq Umar (16) – opening batsmen from Pakistan – returned to pavilion before the second day closed on Tuesday.
After winning the toss New Zealand captain Brendon McCullum elected to bat first and scored 403 runs in first inning. Tom Latham was top scorer from Kiwis side. BB Maccallum lost his wicket after scoring 43 runs, Mark Craig also scored 4 3 runs before he left the pitch.
Leg spinner Yasir shah and Pace man Ahsan Adil send two batsman each to Pavilion. Zulfiqar Babar took 4 wickets.
After Ahmad Shehzad’s skull injury, all rounder Muhammad Hafeez was also dropped due to hamstring injury. Two openers were replaced by Tofeeq Umar and Shan Masood.
Pakistani Paceman Imran khan was on rest for second match. However, the 21-year-old Adil is added in playing eleven as a third change, he is playing his second test match.
New Zealand team remained unchanged from the first Test.
