PESHAWAR – The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Pervez Khattak while reiterating his pledge of uprooting corruption from the govt machinery Monday expressed his anger and dismay that certain departments and its heads were taking his clear cut instructions so light that incidents of malpractices occurs under their nose but they literally appear to be ignorant of it.
He cautioned that he knew everything in the govt and could not be deceived anyhow while wrong doings in any department meant either its heads are hoodwinked by their sub-ordinate officers or indulged in it by themselves and it could not be tolerated in both cases.
He was chairing a meeting about progress on ADP schemes and hiring of consultants services at Conference Room of CM Secretariat Peshawar that besides the administrative secretaries and other high ups of Planning & Development, Communication & Works, Public Health Engineering, Labour & Manpower, Irrigation, Local Govt & Rural Development departments was also attended by Minister Information & PHE Shah Farman Khan, Parliamentary Secretary on P&D Mian Khaliqur Rehman MPA, Economic Advisor to CM Rafaqatullah Babar, Additional Chief Secretary Khalid Pervez and Principal Secretary to CM Muhammad Ashfaq Khan.
Pervez Khattak noted with concern that his directives were partially ignored by some heads of departments with certain excuses but infact it indicated ulterior self interests that always tantamounted to causing mismanagement but he said it was impossible during his tenure because he kept a close vigil on performance of each and every department while also receiving 1st hand information about all of them through independent sources even. He said a head of any department was rightly supposed to be well aware of all the matters and never to delay or put any matter in the cold storage that he said might directly harm public interest.
The Chief Minister also expressed apprehension over the delay in hiring of consultants for executing developmental projects. However Secretary C&W Ahamad Hanif Orkazi told that the process of hiring the services of consultants was almost over and would be engaged by the end of this month while tenders of the development projects would start floating next month under the new system. Pervez Khattak expressed the confidence that all matters relating to welfare and program of the masses and bringing transparency in the govt affairs would be expedited to enable the people get its fruits in the earliest.
