ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister of Pakistan Nawaz Sharif and Afghan President Ashraf Ghani to witness a friendly Twenty-20 match between Afghanistan-A and Pakistan-A team.
According to the televised reports Ghani and Nawaz will be enjoying the thrilling match at Shalimar Cricket Ground of Islamabad on Saturday. However, due to high security protocol, common public is not allowed to enter the stadium.
Earlier today, Ashraf Ghani held one-on-one meeting with Nawaz Sharif in order to revive the bilateral ties between both nations. The promotion of relations in fields of security, trade and economy were on the discussion lines.
National Anthem of both countries were played on the arrival of Afghan’s President to the Prime Minister House. Ghani inspected guard of honor at PM house.
After the one-on-one and delegation meetings both leaders held a mutual press conference. Nawaz Sharif stated that both countries share mutual threats and opportunities. “Our security and development perspective are mutual. Our future, past and present is mutual,” he stated.
Afghan President also termed Pakistan his second home. He said “His government’s policies are meant to unite whole nation in one fabric. We also wish democracy to prosper in Pakistan. In just three days, we have overcome the obstacles of thirteen years.”
Yesterday Ghani visited General Head Quarter (GHQ) Rawalpindi and meet Army Chief General Raheel Sharif and then meet with his counterpart Mamnoon Hussain.
The capital of Pakistan has been turned into a security bunker with police wardens, Rangers and intelligence agency’s officers standing at almost every crossing amid Ashraf Ghani’s two day official visit.
