LAHORE – The dysfunctional prosecution system of country once again came under flashlight when a rape case was registered against six-year-old boy identified as Muhammad Husnain.
According to the media reports, the boy was charged in the First Investigation Report (FIR) with raping a woman – name kept anonymous – registered in Shalimar Police Station.
Husnain had to appear before Session Court where the judge Naveed Iqbal discharge him of the alleged crime. However, it was not the first time that Punjab police has booked young boys in heinous crimes. Earlier this year, Punjab Police had charged at least two young babies with criminal offenses.
Musa was charged with attempted murder along with his father and grandfather after a mob protesting against gas cutsand price increases stoned police and gas company workers trying to collect overdue bills.
In another incident, one Chaudhry Nadish, a 16-month-old boy, was charged for ‘offering resistance, interfering and stopping the police from performing their duty’.
