ISLAMABAD – Amid Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) war of egos, the polio virus continues war against Pakistani children and until now 243 cases have been tested positive.
Just when the State Minister of National Health Services Saira Afzal Tarar was engaged in a clash with the representatives of Sindh government to trace the responsibility of blocking polio virus growth, National Health Institute Islamabad confirmed five more polio cases in the country.
The new five cases appeared in Mardanl, Balochistan and Karachi with one each and Khyber Agency with two children being tested positive. With this the total number of polio cases in Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) has surpassed the 155, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) 49 cases, Sindh 25 and Balochistan 11 cases.
Amazingly the province of Punjab was being declared polio-free in last year but three new cases have now appeared in the province.
