ABU DHABI – The skipper in action Misbahul Haq is only one step behind from breaking the record of legendary Pakistani cricketers Imran Khan and Javed Miandad.
If Pakistani Test Squad successfully toiled the Kiwi batsmen in the second innings of first test match then Misbahul Haq’s total test wins as captain would surpass from those of Imran Khan and Javed Miandad. Pakistan has given the target of 480 runs to Kiwis after declaring their second innings on Wednesday.
Misbahul Haq equated the record of Imran Khan and Javed Miandad (14 test wins as a captain) by defeating Australia in two test match series last month. Pakistan won the first test by 221 runs and second test from Australia by 356 runs.
Test Series against Australia remained record breaking for Misbahul Haq as well. He hit the test fifty on 21 balls and then went ahead to equal the fastest test hundred record of Viv Richard on 56 balls.
In first test match against New Zealand Pakistani skipper again made a test century.
