RAWALPINDI – Military sources have confirmed that the Pakistan Armed Forces have killed at least 19 outlawed militants in an airborne attacks during Operation Khyber-1.
According to the official communique issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Wednesday, jet planes destroyed the hideouts of outlawed militants in Terah Valley of Khyber Agency.
It was officially confirmed that from five hideouts at least 16 outlawed militants of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) died in the attacks. However, local media sources reported that casualties could be mounted.
Later, during a search operation five suspects were also taken into custody and shifted to an undisclosed location for further clearances.
For over a week now, Pakistan Armed Forces are engaged in Operation Khyber-1 along with Operation Zarb-e-Azb. Both military offensives against the outlawed TTP are believed to have broken the backbone of militancy in Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA).
