ISLAMABAD – Out of way distribution of development funds in Khyber Pakhutnkhuwa (KP) is being defended by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)’s provincial minister Ashraf Ghani terming as ‘it was the right of lawmakers’.
Mushtaq Ghani stated on Tuesday that no violations were made during the process.
“All funds were issued by following proper procedures and rules. The amount is not directly handed over to the lawmaker rather transfer through the relevant department for the certain development project,” he added.
However, when asked why the Members of National Assembly (MNAs) were issued funds from provincial budget, Ghani said “Was not it their right too? Specially when Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) lead federal government had not given a single penny to them to conduct any development projects in their constituencies.”
Replying to the question that why opposition members were neglected in the process, Ghani maintained that development funds were issued on the submission of proper paper work. Those who did not submit any reports of their proposed development projects were not given any funds either, he added.
PakistanTribe reported on Monday that PTI’s provincial government in KP issued Rs 13 billion of development fund and while doing so merit was not kept a prime motive. Viewers can read the details by clicking here – Report -.
