ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has taken the notice of air-pollution due to much awaited Metro Bus Project in twin cities and direct to complete the initiative by January 30, 2015.
The Commissioner Rawalpindi Zahid Saeed has assured after the notice of PM Nawaz Sharif that the construction work would be closed before 30 January.
The much awaited mass transit transport project of twin cities has been causing serious air pollution in the atmosphere of Rawalpindi and Islamabad. The dust, smoke and noise is the most common problems faced by thousands of travelers who have to travel by the construction side.
PM Nawaz Sharif, however, took serious notice of the issue and directed the Ministry of Environment to take steps for minimizing the pollution as much as possible.
The Commissioner Rawalpindi Zahid Saeed claimed that over all 50 per cent of work has been completed on almost all packages of Metro Bus Project. The total road length in Rawalpindi is 8.6 kilometers and 13.9 kilometers of the road length for Metro is located in Islamabad, he said further. “Peshawar Mor interchange will be completed in March 2015,” he informed while stating that due to sit-ins the project faced a delay.
