Awami Tehreek Reveals its Assets in Pakistan in Bid to Contest Elections

PAT's Assets in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD – After the announcement of participating in the electoral process from its supremo- Tahirul Qadri – the Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) has submitted the details of its assets with the ELection Commission of Pakistan.

The PAT represenatives visited the Election Commission headoffice on Monday morning to submit the details. According to the details the total party assets were of worht Rs 1.4 million (Rs 1,450,513 to be exact).

Tahirul Qadri, the supremo of PAT and Minhajul Quran, announced before wrapping up the sit-in from Islamabad that now they will get ready to participate in the elections.

However, the details of its total assets have amazed many critiques in Pakistan. According to one credible source the PAT’s daily expense of three meals for its workers participating in the sit-in used to exceed the limit of Rs 0.5 million. But the total party assets as per documented reports are far less in comparison to the expenditures.

Another source privy to PAT told PakistanTribe‘s correspondent on condition of anonymity that “PAT and Minhaj (the moderate religious movement headed by Tahirul Qadri) holds separate accounts. PAT is a political wing. Though we share the expense whenever needed but the details submitted with the Election Commission of Pakistan are only about the assets of PAT.
