PESHAWAR – The official document revealed that at least 17 lawmakers of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) – who have now resigned from the National Assembly – were given funds of worth Rs 340 million for their constituencies from provincial development fund.
According to an official document acquired by the PakistanTribe from KP government sources on Monday a total amount of Rs 13 billion was distributed as development funds during previous fiscal year.
The most shocking aspect of this distribution is that 17 lawmakers of PTI from National Assembly received the quota of funds from provincial budget. The document also revealed that out of Rs 13 billion only Rs 800 million was allocated for the members of opposition members in KP assembly.
Moreover, nepotism and personal favoritism could also be seen in the distribution of funds. The son-in-law of Chief Minister Pervez Khattak received Rs 250 million in development fund. Another PTI provincal leader Asad Qaiser received Rs 801 million of development fund only for his constituency.
Moreover, the strongholds of PTI in KP were given more than normal funds. Among those districts there were Nowshehra which received Rs 2 billion, Mardan Rs 801 million, Upper and Lower Dir 340 million.
When PakistanTribe contacted the spokesperosn officer of PTI no one was willing to comment on the issue ciitng ‘It is a provincial matter and government of KP would respond to it.’ However, the representaives of KP government did not respond to PakistanTribe‘s correspondnet till the publishing of this report.
