LAHORE – The President of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Punjab Ejaz Chaudhry has refused any chances that any of his party’s legislators in Punjab Assembly would take back his/her resignation over government pressure.
Ejaz Chaudhry was speaking to media on Friday outside Punjab Assembly after a failed attempt to appear before Speaker Rana Muhammad Iqbal.
Chaudhry said “No one should hold any doubt that one of us will take turn over resignation. 29 members of Punjab Assembly are present here. Only one female member could not appear due to illness. What is Punjab Government waiting for now? Come forward and accept our resignations.”
However, the Speaker of Punjab Assembly Rana Muhammad Iqbal maintained that PTI members never showed up in his chamber. “I was waiting for them. They never came. Appearing in a group for confirmation of resignation is against the rules.”
Commenting on the issue, the key leader of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Punjab – Rana Sanaullah – said “PTI does not want to give resignations. Their stance is only a delaying tactic. We will not accept the resignations like this.”
