NEW YORK – The seventh movie in George Lucas’ sci-fi epic will be called Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens.
The news was broken by the film’s official Twitter page and has already been retweeted nearly 10,000 times.
Original stars Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher and Mark Hamill are all set to return for Episode VII.
The film is being directed by JJ Abrams, the director behind Star Trek and Super 8.
Scheduled for release on 18 December, 2015, the film is set around 30 years after the events of Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi.
The announcement was made on the movie’s last day of production at Pinewood Studios.
