KASUR – The 25-years-old woman who was brutally beaten up and then burnt in the village kiln for blasphemy along with her husband, reportedly bares pregnancy of her fourth child.
According to the medical examination of the murdered woman, the report did not find any evidence that she was pregnant adding that whole body was completely burnt that DNA was not possible.
According to a report published by the leading English daily Dawn on Wednesday, around 50 villagers of Kot Radha Kishan have been arrested so far in connection with the murder.
Kasur District Police Officer (DPO) Jawad Qamar confirmed the arrests and said a local religious leader had fanned the issue. But the DPO did not disclose his name. PakistanTribe also learnt that local mosque’s loud speaker was used to gather mob for the brutal act.
The First Information Report (FIR) accounts the inhumane incident stating “Both Shama and Shahzad (Christian couple) were reduced to ashes in no time.”
It said that 60 accused nominated in the FIR, including the kiln owner and his staff, had incited the villagers to violence by managing announcements through loudspeakers of the mosques in Chak 59, Chak 60, Chak Rossa and Chak Bhail. The accused burnt the Christian couple alive, beat up police officials and fanned a mass hysteria.
Moreover, the Chief of Jamate-e-Islami Sirajul Haq, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf condemned the brutal act and demanded to bring culprits to justice.
However, district police is still busy arresting and releasing accused villagers. It was also learnt through FIR that exactly 660 villagers were nominated for the incident but police could only able to arrest as many as 50 persons so far.
