Karachi violence claims 10 more lives | PakistanTribeKARACHI – At least 10 persons including a policeman were killed and several others injured in different parts of Karachi during the past 24 hours, PakistanTribe.com reported on Monday.

Twenty-one suspects were also held by police and rangers during the ongoing targeted operation.

According to details, two persons were killed in chamra Chorangi and another was killed in Chakiwara area of Layari. One body sacked in gunny bag was recovered from Maripur Machar Colony.

One person was killed in the firing by unknown persons in Qasba Colony of the city. The ANP president of Sohrab Goth was killed in the firing in Gulshin-e-Mamar.

Meanwhile, three persons were also injured in the attack. Two friends were gunned down on the New MA Jinnah Road.

Mudabar Raza, 35, and Haider Raza, 33, were heading toward the Jail Chowrangi on their way home when two unidentified assailants on a motorcycle came across and opened fire at them, killing both the men on the spot, Brigade police said.

The bodies were shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre, SSP East Pir Mohammed Shah said. The victims, who lived in Rizvia Society, had suffered multiple bullet wounds in their upper torsos with 9mm pistols. The spent bullet shells found at the spot have been sent for forensic tests.

In New Karachi, a policeman was shot dead and another was injured in a drive-by shooting in Khamisa Goth.

Police constables Tasawwur and Qurban Ali of the Hyderi police station were deployed for intelligence on criminals operating out of the New Karachi Industrial Area. On Sunday night, both the cops were stationed at Khamisa Goth to arrest some suspected criminals, who had escaped to the area.

Both cops were injured in the attack and the assailants escaped with the arrested suspect. The police shifted the injured policemen to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, where Tasawwur succumbed to his injuries while Ali was admitted to the hospital. The deceased had suffered multiple bullet wounds in the chest.

In Lyari, an unidentified man was shot dead in Gul Mohammed Lane. The victim was passing through the area when two unidentified attackers on a motorcycle came to him and opened fire, killing him on the spot. The body was taken to the Civil Hospital Karachi for medico-legal formalities, Kalakot police said. He was shot multiple times in the chest which proved fatal.

Another unidentified man was shot dead in Lyari’s Gulistan Colony. The victim who looked to be in his 20s was walking along the road when two assailants came on a motorcycle and shot him dead, Chakiwara police said. The body was shifted to the Civil hospital.

Meanwhile police and rangers have arrested 21 accused during the on going targeted operation in different areas of the city.
