U.S. Government Commits $7.28 Million to Baluchista​n Police | PakistanTribe.comISLAMABAD – the government of the United States, through the Office of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement in Pakistan (INL-P), committed $7.28 million to purchase equipment and provide training to Baluchistan police. 

The Director of INL-P, Alberto Rodriguez, signed a Project Implementation Letter (PIL) with the Inspector General of Police-Baluchistan, Muhammad Amlish, to formalize assistance to the police in the province.

INL-P support will enhance the capability, safety, and effectiveness of the Baluchistan Police.  The PIL provides six armored vehicles; 4,500 bulletproof jackets and helmets; one vehicle mounted jammer; eight explosives ordinance disposal (EOD) suits; eight EOD support vehicles; eight handheld explosive detectors; eight hand-held mine detectors; and 100 blast bins and blankets.  The equipment will improve the capability of Baluchistan police in maintaining an effective law and order regime, while the ballistic protection equipment will provide an added level of personal protection against projectiles, shrapnel, and explosives.  INL-P will also provide training to the Baluchistan police as needed.

This PIL is part of INL-P’s overall assistance program, which provides training, equipment and infrastructure support to law enforcement entities throughout Pakistan.
