Pakistan's Award Winning Female Journalist Asma Shirazi Joins BOL | PakistanTribe.comKARACHI – Pakistan’s talented and award winning female journalist Asma Shirazi has joined the BOL media group, PakistanTribe.com reported.

According to the detail, Asma Shirazi has joined the media group as Executive Voice President and senior anchorperson.

Asma Shirazi, the Pakistani journalist honoured for courageous reporting on Thursday (October 23, 2014).

Shirazi, Pakistan’s first female war correspondent and host of popular TV talk show “Faisla Awam Ka” on DawnNews, made the comments as she accepted the 2014 Peter Mackler Award for Courageous and Ethical Journalism.

Pakistan is currently ranked 158th out of 180 countries in the World Press Freedom Index published by Reporters Without Borders.

Shirazi is the sixth recipient of the award, and the first from Pakistan. Last year’s winner was Sudanese journalist Faisal Mohammed Salih.

Iftikhar Ahmed, Wasim Badami, Kamran Khan, Azhar Abbas among the other big guns of Pakistani media who joined the BOL network.
