ISLAMABAD – A high level meeting of senior officers of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) was held here today at NAB Headquarters in which progress on decisions of 19th DGs Conference was reviewed.
Chairman NAB reiterated the resolve of the DGs Conference to eliminate corruption from the society and to carry-out across the board accountability.
Progress of cases was presented by the concerned DGs. Chairman directed relevant Divisions/Wings of NAB to expedite work to establish two Regional NAB Offices at Multan and Sukkur. So that corruption cases are dealt expeditiously.
New Regional Bureaus have been named as NAB Punjab (Multan) and NAB Sindh (Sukkur). A notification in this regard has been issued.
A notification for establishment of one Police Station each at both new Regional NABs was also approved. Chairman directed DG Operations to write to Inspector Generals (IGs) Police of Punjab and Sindh for placement of required strength of Police personnel at both the Police Stations.
Chairman’s Inspection and Monitoring Team (CIMT) and DG Admin/HR Divisions apprised Chairman NAB about the pace of work on establishment of the two new offices. It was decided that both Regional Offices will start functioning from 1st January 2015.
Chairman directed that work on pending inquiries and investigations be speeded up for early finalization.
