But this time the situation seems different as Javed Hashmi using Helicopter to distribute pamphlets among his constituency voters on October 15, 2014.
Pamphlets comprising the message “1 Bahadar Adami – Hashmi, Hashmi” have been dropped in different areas of Multan’s NA-149.
Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf’s (PTI) vice chairmen Shah Mehmood Qureshi termed the initiative as “violation of electoral laws.”
According to the official announcements of the election commission election campaign has been concluded on the night of October 14, 2014.
Qureshi also criticized the deputy commissioner officer (DCO) Multan as he said that local administration violating the laws.
“DCO is no more an unbiased administrative,” said Qureshi.
Though, it’s not clear that who is behind the distribution of pamphlets through Helicopter but local sources claim that government machinery being used in Javed Hashmi’s campaign.
The by-elections in Multan’s National Assembly constituency-149, will be held on October 16.
At least 81 out of 286 polling stations, have been declared as sensitive for vote in Multan seat vacated by Javed Hashmi.
According to Regional Election Commissioner Ghulam Israr Khan, the rangers personnel will stand guard on the sensitive polling stations, and the police personnel will be on security duty on other polling stations.
According to Assistant Commissioner Ashfaqur Rehman, the electoral apparatus will be distributed among the staff of polling stations at 9am tomorrow.
