Microsoft just forgot no 9 and launch Windows 10

NEW YORK – It’s news that’ll leave some Microsoft fans in a state of shock.

The software giant has just announced their latest operating system and it’s called Windows 10.

The current OS is called Windows 8 and many expected 9 to follow, but it seems Microsoft haven’t done their maths and have headed straight to Windows 10.

They are currently explaining more about their plans at an event in San Francisco and we’ll bring you more details as they happen.

But one thing we do know is the start button is back, and comes packed with more features.

When you click on the menu, it’ll now pop up with all your Live Tiles included inside and it can be fully customised to your liking.

Even the size and shape of the menu will be up to you.

Another new feature on Windows 10 is called Snap Assist.

This neat function allows you to have multiple desktops on one screen for better multitasking.

Window 10 will run on a wide range of devices including, tablets, PCs, smartphones, and even the Xbox.

Microsoft are trying to keep both Windows 8 and 7 users happy with a mix of touch and keyboard commands.

And they hope everyone will upgrade to the new operating system.

No mention yet of when Windows 10 will hit smartphones but don’t expect anything until late 2015.
