The JUI-F spokesman quoting the Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s meeting with the prime minister at the Prime Minister House in Islamabad before the latter embarked on a visit to Afghanistan the other day said that the two leaders exchanged views on the current situation in the country.
They also exchanged views over the recent visit of prime minister to Afghanistan.
Maulana Fazlur Rehman expressed hope that Prime Minister’s visit to Afghanistan would help strengthen the relations between the two countries.
According to party spokesman, prime minister assured Maulana Fazlur Rehman that dialogues would be carried out with the Taliban despite hardships.
Prime Minister said that government is closing watching the prevailing situation in the tribal areas and government is sticking to its stand regarding dialogues with the Taliban.
Fazlur Rehman informed the Prime Minister about tribal Jirga and gave written details of progress made during the tribal Jirga held in Peshawar three days ago.
Fazlur Rehman made it clear to the Prime Minister that the Jirga presented several proposals for establishing peace in the country and tribal people have forwarded their services for strengthening the reconciliatory efforts of the government.
JUI-F Chief further said that the Jirga stressed on more efforts for establishing peace in the country.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister also informed Maulana Fazlur Rehman regarding his discussion made with the Afghan President, Hamid Karzai during his visit to UK.
