Eid al Fitr 2014 being celebrated in Pakistan, India and UK | PakistanTribe.comISLAMABAD – As the Central Rueet-e-Hilal (Moon Sighting) Committee announced moon sighting on Monday, Pakistanis are celebrating Eid ul Fitr 2014, PakistanTribe.com reported.

The biggest Eid gatherings were held at Eid Centers and Central Mosques of all cities and towns along-with rural areas, where millions offered Eid prayer.

One of the most joyous days in the Islamic calendar, Eid al-Fitr, also known as Eid ul-Fitr or Eid, is a celebration that marks the end of Ramadan (a holy month of fasting observed by Muslims).

The Eid is also being celebrated in different parts of the world with a whole month of fasting and spiritual training during the month of Ramadan.

The people used to visit their close relatives and friends on the eve of Eid, during all the three days of the biggest Muslim event.

India Eid Celebrations

In India, where over 200 million Muslims live, locals have been celebrating the event with traditional fervour and zeal.

The main prayer congregation was offered at Jamia Masjid, Delhi while prayers were offered at hundreds of places.

UK Eid Celebrations

Though Muslims who follow Saudi Arabia moon sighting celebrated Eid on Monday, most of the Muslims in the kingdom have been celebrating Eid on Tuesday.

Large gatherings of prayers would be held in mosques as well as in Islamic centers across the country.
