ISLAMABAD – Big relief is expected in electricity crisis in next three to four months as Dasu Hydropower Project’s first phase will be completed in the period.This was released by Advisor to Prime Minister on Water and Power Dr. Musadik Malik.
He said that financing for the project had already been arranged.
The mega project will help overcome power shortage, besides irrigating thousands of acres of barren land.
World Bank had agreed to provide assistance for the 4,320 megawatt power project.
According to the adviser, the government was in talks with World Bank, Asian Development Bank and other international financial institutions to start work on Diamer Basha dam project.
Dasu Hydropower Project is a run of river scheme located 7 km upstream of Dasu village on Indus River, 74 km downstream of Diamer Basha Dam and 350 km from Islamabad. The Project is located in District Kohistan of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
