PESHAWAR/TANK – The yet to be known assailants have killed one Pashto singer and the son of a Senator in two separate incident.
According to the correspondent reports the Pashto singer Gulnaz was shot by unknown assailants in Peshawar and Shamsul Islam was murdered on Wana Road in Tank district of Khyber Pakhtunkhuwa.
When contacted, police confirmed that Gulnaz was at her house in Gulburg area of Peshawar Cantt when at least four men entered the residence and after a brief verbal comments shot her and fled.
Gulnaz was shifted to the hospital but could not survive. Police had registered a case on a complaint by Gulnaz’s brother Sadaqat.
The singer originally hails from Par Hoti area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Mardan district.
In a separate incident, a son of Saleh Shah, a Senator from the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA), was shot dead on Wana road in Tank district. Shamsul Islam was on his way to the South Waziristan tribal region when he was attacked, sources said.
Security forces rushed to the spot and shifted the body to a hospital in Wana.
He was a son of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) leader and FATA Senator Saleh Shah.
Family sources and political administration have not yet confirmed the killing but intelligence and local sources said Shamsul Islam was killed during firing.
