BEIJING – A group of talented footballers are enjoying kickabouts on high voltage ELECTRICITY WIRES.
Wearing specially made clothes and boots the youngsters play their dangerous game in the city of Changle, in eastern China.
The extraordinary team was created by Wang Zengxiang, a 23-year-old graduate from an electromechanical school, who is a keen experimenter.
After graduating from college, he found work as an electrical engineer, but quit to devote himself to studying tesla technology and developing lightning-related projects.
At the start of 2012, Wang and his two nephews founded a musical band, named Leitingfeng or Thunderbolt. He combined tesla coil with instruments to play music, during which lightening was produced.
In 2012, he was invited to display his talents on China Central Television.
At first, fellow villagers considered him crazy but now he has become their eccentric mascot.

Now he has moved on to sport and his high-wire football team produce lightning which livens up the atmosphere around the World Cup matches being televised from Brazil.
“The clothes the players wear are specially made from material which diverts the electricity, so the players are perfectly safe,” said Wang.
