Eight war refugees of Orakzai Agency gunned down in Bannu


HANGU – At least eight unfortunate refugees of war who managed to save their lives from militancy hit Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) were gunned down by unknown assailants.

Police sources confirmed that unknown gunmen opened fire at a family of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) of Ali Khel tribe from Orakzai Agency.

Police also confirmed that deceased included two women. According to police, unidentified men trespassed into a house and killed the eight people. One woman was said to be injured.

North Waziristan IDPs

A handout issued in Peshawar which directed the district administration to make available the school buildings of the Elementary & Secondary Education Department in Bannu, Lakki Marwat, Tank, Karak and Hangu districts for accommodating IDPs from areas affected by the military operation.

Moreover, the Bannu camp, established to accommodate IDPs of North Waziristan, stands abandoned despite all facilities as reports from ground zero suggest that families not moving towards the camp.

Its pertinent to mention here that PakistanTribe reported on 14 June that tribal families from North Waziristan are taking refuge in Afghanistan‘s neighboring province of Khost where a refugee camp was established and at least 50,000 people have registered themselves there.
