ISLAMABAD – The leader of Awami Muslim League (AML) Sheikh Rashid Ahmed has cancelled his long awaited long march claiming that railway officials refused to take care of security measures but now he would join Tahirul Qadri for the demonstrations.
Sheikh shifted the burden of cancellation of his version of Long March to Pakistan Railway on Tuesday while speaking to media outside the parliament house.
He said “New dates will be announced soon. The General Manager of Railways had refused to provide security for the train march. Now AML would now use its power to greet Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) leader Dr Tahir ul Qadri, who is due to arrive in Pakistan on June 23.”
The AML leader quoted intelligence officials saying that two suicide bombers could target him.
