PESHAWAR – The chief of Jamat-e-Islami (JI) and Finance Minister of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) lead Khyber Pakhtunkhuwa (KPK) government, Sirajul Haq, lashed federal government for not finding a way to avoid North Waziristan military operation.
Sirajul Haq, whose provincial chief Professor Ibrahim was the outlawed Taliban appointed peace negotiator, maintained on Monday that government could have avoided the military operation by adopting other means.
Siraj also advised Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif for not closing the door of peace talks.
“There are other ways as well… The government should talk to influential tribal leaders and find a way out in this situation. I think the doors should remain open for peace talks,” Siraj said.
“The government has not even bothered to take any political party into confidence over North Waziristan operation,” claimed the JI leader while speaking to media persons here.
“The nation is in darkness. Those governments which take solo flights ultimately face isolation; therefore, all political forces should unite to chalk out a roadmap for betterment of the nation,” he added.
