Arabian Sea Cyclone takes at least 20 lives of Pakistani fishermen

KARACHI – The cyclone of Arabian Sea has taken the toll as at least 20 fishermen lost lives during deep sea fishing, officials confirmed.

According to the Fisherman Cooperative Society the dead bodies of twenty fishermen were recovered on Monday from the coast line of Gadani, Balochistan’s area near Karachi.

The official confirmed that all deceased were fishermen and their identification was underway.

Initial reports said all the fishermen drowned in the sea due to tropical cyclone ‘Nanauk’ which partially hit coastal areas of Pakistan a couple of days ago.

Gadani is a coastal village of Balochistan’s Lasbela district, some 50 kilometers from Karachi.

PakistanTribe reported on 14 June that amid cyclone at least 20 villages of Pakistani coastal city Thatta to inundate in sea water.
